We invented a new kind of guitar made of electricity and light. The Cosmic Guitar, by Cosmic Studio, is the first in a new class of musical instruments built on the physics of high-frequency electromagnetic waves. The Cosmic Guitar physically makes music, but not sounds, due to the nature of the waves produced. The Cosmic Guitar App uses physics to translate these inaudible electromagnetic waves into customizable musical instrument tones and effects perfect for your music.

We demonstrate a few of the included presets and musical effects available from the Cosmic Guitar app. The presets and instrument tones were inspired by the life cycle of stars, focusing on the heavy distortions caused by the extremes of stars in their final forms.

The app plugin uses measurements of a physical Cosmic Guitar, as well as the physics of electromagnetic waves, to translate Cosmic Guitar behaviors into music we can actually hear. Using the Cosmic Guitar app you can vary the physical properties of the guitar to create new instrument tones and effects and apply them to your music:
REAL and IMAGINARY:
Vary the electrical impedance of the guitar strings. An actual string would have a constant impedance. We’ve enabled physically impossible strings.
PLATE and BODY:
Vary the properties of the guitar top plate, or guitar body. Vary the guitar size or even choose between different types of physical fields or power types.
OUTPUT:
Vary the strength of the guitar plate and body responses, plug-in output levels, chorus/delay section, and guitar string behavior selector.
MODE SELECTOR:
Load/store presets and guitar model options.
FREQUENCY SPECTRUM:
Select between different tabs to view different frequency spectrums of the guitar or strings.
